Ready to run? The 5th Annual Kauai Marathon is just two weeks away (September 1, 2013) and includes another elite field of world class runners competing for fun, glory and of course, a little bit of cash.

This year’s marathon again includes The Grand Hyatt Kauai $15,000 Speed Challenge, which splits the award with any male runner finishing under 2:23:19 (current course record) and any female runner under 2:45.

The winner of the last two events (2011, 2012), 27 year old Tyler McCandless of Boulder, Colorado, is returning to defend his title and to attempt to break his own course record.

The event also includes a Fun Run, which is free and open to the public of all ages, and a Keiki Race, both which are being held on Saturday, August 31, 2013.

On-line registration will close August 29, 2013 at 11:59pm., PST
