October 12, 2013 – Blue Water Task Force sampling.

The surf breaks are still clean, with no bacteria detected (< 10) while the streams have higher counts than usual. Kapa’a Beach Park and Kalapaki Bay were way higher than usual.

Remember, if the water is brown, it is probably contaminated.

The State Dept. of Health issues “Brown Water Advisories” when this happens, but the bacteria levels may remain high for days later.

Wash off after you come out of the water!!
