Several hammerhead sharks were spotted yesterday in Hanalei Bay around 5 p.m., resulting in a beach closure, county officials said.

A chunk of shark-gnawed whale carcass drifted onto a North Shore beach yesterday between ‘Anini and Kalihiwai, requiring heavy equipment to remove it.
