Triple Crown of Surfing to start on Oahu’s North Shore

HALE‘IWA — The 26th annual Vans Triple Crown of Surfing is poised to kick-off first thing this morning at Hale‘iwa’s Ali‘i Beach Park, with an incoming west-northwest swell building for the start of the Reef Hawaiian Pro. Kauai’s Powers wins

Roy Powers of Kaua’i won his second round heat in the Santa Catarina Hang Loose Pro yesterday at Brazil.
The second round was completed in 1- to 3-foot waves at Imbituba, Santa Catarina, Brazil.
Powers defeated Brazil’s William Cardoso, 12.76-11.67, to advance to the third round.
