Kauai Officials Warn Beachgoers Of Sharks

Ocean Safety officials warned beachgoers on Tuesday to stay out of the water on Kauai’s North Shore after sharks were spotted.
A whale carcass was found drifting offshore of ‘Anini Beach at a surf spot known as “Wires,” the Kauai Fire Department said.

Hamilton, Powers successful at Drug Aware Pro

Bethany Hamilton advanced to Round 3 and Roy Powers won his heat yesterday in the Drug Aware Pro at Margaret River in Australia.
Hamilton surfed the 9- to 10-foot waves to finish second to Australia’s Nicola Atherton and will face New Zealand’s Paige Hareb.

Making Kaua’i’s beaches a little safer one tube at a time

Anahola resident John Tyler is on a mission.
After learning that roughly 12 drownings happen annually on Kaua‘i, he had an idea to place rescue tubes at unguarded beaches.

Summer youth job deadline near on Kauai
