Traffic lights may ease Kilauea congestion

Motorists mired in Kilauea traffic lately may have some relief soon as four portable traffic light units and two accompanying warning signs appeared over the weekend near a bridge construction project.

Temporary traffic signals in Kilauea

Temporary traffic signals have been installed at the intersection of Kuhio Highway and Kolo Road in Kilauea on Kauai.
The State Department of Transportation said the signals are currently in a flashing mode.

Full Closure Near Wainiha Bridges

Kuhio Highway will be closed in both directions near the Wainiha Bridges on Tuesday night to Wednesday morning from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., for bridge installation and pavement surfacing work.

Speed limit lowered on portion of North Shore’s Kuhio Hwy.
