Clean Water Branch had been notified of a waste water discharge from a lift station at Princeville on Kauai due to a power outage.
According to preliminary estimates, more than 1,500 gallons discharged into waters adjacent to Sealodge Beach.
CWB officials believe the waste water may not have entered into the ocean due to heavy vegetation.

Kauai shrimp farm under quarantine

The State Department of Agriculture has placed an emergency quarantine prohibiting the movement of shrimp from Limaloa Farm on Kaua’i.
The quarantine was issued on Monday when tests confirmed White Spot Syndrome Virus in the shrimp.

The mayor of Kauai has a heart bypass performed on Oahu
Kauai Mayor Bryan Baptiste is “his usual feisty self” after heart bypass surgery Friday, Kauai public information officer Mary Daubert said yesterday.
Baptiste, 52, went in for a routine checkup last week, and doctors apparently did not like what they saw.
