Thanks to the quick action of local surf instructor Chris Ka‘aumoana of Hanalei, four visitors from a family on the mainland are counting their blessings this morning.
As reported in yesterday’s Garden Island, the four were bodyboarding in Hanalei Bay, but were swept out to sea by 4-6 waves and were heading towards the surf spot known as ‘Middles’. None were wearing fins.
Ka‘aumoana estimated this was his 47th rescue this year alone.
