Clean Water Branch had been notified of a waste water discharge from a lift station at Princeville on Kauai due to a power outage.
According to preliminary estimates, more than 1,500 gallons discharged into waters adjacent to Sealodge Beach.
CWB officials believe the waste water may not have entered into the ocean due to heavy vegetation.
Power has been restored and warning signs have been posted along trails leading to Sealodge Beach.
Water samples will be collected first thing Wednesday morning.
The public is advised to stay out of the area.
