Kaua’i County officials are offering a free guidebook created to help homeowners prepare for natural hazards such as hurricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes and floods.

The official hurricane season in Hawai’i'i is June 1 to Nov. 30.

The book, published by the University of Hawai’i'i Sea Grant College Program, is titled, “Homeowner’s Handbook to Prepare for Natural Hazards.”

The booklet can be downloaded from the Kaua’i Civil Defense Agency (KCDA) page on the county’s website, www.kauai.gov/civildefense. Limited quantities in hard copy are also available from KCDA.
