I met Paul and Laurie in 2002. I had gone to Kauai for my first time after my father and my best friend died. I had no plans. I was referred to Paul and Laurie by a neighbor as a possible place to stay. I was greeted by them and was made to feel like family. The beautiful little girls colored pictures and sat on my lap like I was an Uncle. Laurie was so warm and friendly . Paul showed me some of the art that he collected as well as the projects he was working on. I came back a couple years later with my son and again another time with my wife and was received with the same enthusiasm. I have told all who would listen about my stays with the Goodrich's. It was just today while trying to get an address that I learned of the tragedy. I am sad from the news but still happy to have even known them. I too will pray for the girls that God will protect and guide them through their lives.

Laurie was a classmate - Scituate High School

Scituate is south of Boston and is on the Atlantic coast.

We are all mourning. As a parent of two daughters I pray for Laurie and Paul's daughters - that they find their way through this terrible time and that are always surround by family and friends.
