The return of Superferry is still nearly a month away.
The service is now taking reservations for it’s back-and-forth Maui runs starting April 23.
The giant vessel is out of dry dock but spokeswoman Lori Abe says repairs and inspections are continuing.
The Alakai has been in dry dock since Feb. 13 for repairs that were supposed to take three weeks. That was extended to April 22 after additional problems arose.
The Coast Guard is just beginning an annual inspection of the Superferry, which will include a check of the crew’s readiness for emergencies. Sea trials are expected to finish on Monday.
There are still no plans for a date to resume service to Kauai, which was suspended because of protests in Nawiliwili Harbor.
