Speed limit lowered on portion of North Shore’s Kuhio Hwy.

March 7th, 2008 · No Comments

The speed limit at the intersection of Kolo Road and Kuhio Highway in Kilauea will be reduced next week from 40 to 30 mph due to the Kilauea Bridge replacement project.

The new posted speed limit will be in effect for the duration of the project, which is expected to be completed by the end of January 2009.

Motorists are advised to allow additional travel time while driving to and from Kilauea and to follow the posted speed limit and other traffic signs in the area, particularly at the intersection of Kolo Road and Kuhio Highway.

The Kauai Police Department will be enforcing all traffic laws.

Anyone with questions can call Alex Pascual with the Department of Public Works at 241-6153 or Kenn Hallquist with Kiewit Pacific Co. at 828-6511.
