Flash flood warning issued for Kauai

February 3rd, 2008 · No Comments

Heavy rain reported near Wainiha

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Kauai this morning after a gauge on the Hanalei River showed a rapid rise in water levels.

The Wainiha Bridge was closed, police said.

The weather service says unstable weather over the islands is creating conditions that could lead to heavy rainfall over all islands and has put the entire state under a flash flood watch.

The Big Island is still getting rain, although not as heavy as yesterday, the weather service said. The island is under a flash flood advisory.
