DC Team News …
So far the winter’s been pretty slow. We’ve gotten a few swells so far, but nothing really that great. During the Triple Crown month I basically surfed every morning, golfed every afternoon, and watched my brother win the Triple Crown. Congrats Andy.
Last week though we got two big swells, and they thought the Eddie (The Quiksilver in Memory of Eddie Akaui Big Wave Invitational) was going to run. That contest needs the waves to be at least 20 feet before it runs, and I guess the swell just missed the minimum. I guess this time of year is usually when the bigger swells start picking up, so I am on call for that for at least another month. I won the event the last time, so hopefully the waves get big enough and it runs this year.
Right now I’m back on Kauai hanging out around the house playing video games. Since I got home, I’ve been spending a lot of time surfing, fishing, and playing golf. I actually just bought my own fishing boat so I’m pretty psyched about that. Now that Danny Way has a place, and his boat over here I have found myself spending a lot of time out on the water with him trying to “feed the kids.â€
Next week I’m going to fly out to Phoenix to watch Ricky Carmichael smoke everyone in the Supercross out there. The very next day I go to the DC Mtn.Lab with Dane and Ry to do a little snowboarding. The DC surf team goes every year and it’s always super fun-it’s a good chance for us to relax and get away from our regular lives. It should be a good time.
Later, Bruce
