January 3rd, 2007 · No Comments

Police are looking for a fugitive who drove his car through a gate at an ancient Hawaiian heiau during a high speed chase last month.

Chris Dichoso Santos, 31, of Kapa‘a, has 53 prior arrests and 17 convictions, seven of which are felonies. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Santos fled Kaua‘i police in his car on Dec. 18, police said. During the pursuit, he drove his vehicle through a gate of a heiau near the Wailua Bridge.

Santos is wanted for parole violation, resisting an order to stop a motor vehicle and criminal property damage, said Kaleo Perez, acting lieutenant for the Kaua‘i Police Department.

Santos is on parole for charges of first-degree burglary, unauthorized control of a motor vehicle, resisting an order to stop a motor vehicle, second degree theft, and unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.
